Are You Feeding Your Body—or Just Filling Your Stomach?

For most of my life, I never gave much thought to what I was putting into my body.

Like many people, I assumed that if I wasn't hungry and I generally ate what everyone else was eating, I was doing just fine.

Then cancer changed everything.

As I searched for answers, one question kept coming back to me:

What does the body actually need in order to function the way God designed it, and to heal?

That question led me down a path I had never expected.

One of the first things I discovered was how dramatically our world has changed over the past century. Our environment and water are much more toxic. And our food is certainly less nutritious and more processed than ever before.

Much of what fills grocery store shelves today didn't exist just a few decades ago.

I began learning about processed foods and something called "empty calories." These foods may satisfy our hunger and provide energy, but they often contain very little of the nourishment our bodies actually need.

That was eye-opening.

I realized it was entirely possible to feel full while my body was still lacking the nutrients it needed to thrive.

Have you ever thought about that?

Could it be that eating enough isn't the same as nourishing your body well?

As I continued researching, I made a simple decision.

Instead of asking, "What tastes good?" I started asking, "What will nourish the body God created?"

Fresh vegetables.

Fresh fruit.

Whole, unprocessed foods.

Little by little, I began replacing many of my old eating habits with foods that were closer to the way God created them.

I wasn't looking for a miracle food or miracle formula.

I was focusing on building a better foundation for my health.

Over time, I noticed things changing.

My energy improved.

I felt more balanced.

A sense of well-being slowly began to return.

And over time, the tumors that I could see and feel in my body began to visibly shrink.

It reminded me of putting the proper fuel into a car. An engine may continue running on poor-quality fuel for a while, but it will never perform the way it was designed. And it breaks down sooner.

The same is true of our bodies.

God created our bodies with remarkable wisdom. It made sense that the foods He created would naturally support the bodies He designed.

My new understanding changed the way I viewed food forever.

It was no longer simply about satisfying my appetite or senses.

It became more about supporting the incredible healing design God had already placed within me.

This was only one part of my healing journey, but it was an important one. Every positive change I made was another step toward bringing my body back into alignment with

God's design.

And as I continued making changes, I discovered something else that surprised me.

Healing didn't happen all at once.

It happened one faithful step at a time.

Standing in faith with you,
