What Juicing Taught Me About Healing
During my healing journey, I discovered that even something as simple as the body’s pH balance could play an important role in supporting health. At first, I’ll admit, it sounded a little intimidating — almost like chemistry class all over again. But the more I learned, the simpler it became.
The body’s internal environment is generally either acidic or alkaline. On the pH scale, zero represents extreme acidity, fourteen represents extreme alkalinity, and seven is neutral.

What fascinated me was discovering how much our daily choices influence that internal environment.
Have you ever noticed how different you feel after eating fresh fruits and vegetables for several days compared to eating heavily processed foods? The body notices the difference too.
Research suggests that healthy cells function best in a more alkaline environment. Plant-based foods naturally help create alkalinity in the body, reinforcing the value of choosing foods that support healing.
That truth became very meaningful to me.
Instead of constantly asking, “What can I eat?” I began asking a different question:
“What environment am I creating inside my body every single day?”
That question changed the way I looked at food.
I began seeing fresh vegetables differently. Not as punishment. Not as a “diet.” But as nourishment. Support. Fuel for healing.
And honestly, juicing became one of the biggest game changers for me.
Not because it was trendy. Not because it was easy. And certainly not because spinach suddenly became exciting.
But because fresh vegetable juice allowed large amounts of concentrated nutrients to enter the body quickly and efficiently.
Think about it for a moment.
How many carrots could someone comfortably eat in one sitting? Maybe one or two? Yet juicing allows the nutrients from many carrots, celery stalks, cucumbers, greens, and other vegetables to be consumed in one glass.
That was powerful to me.
Every glass felt like I was intentionally giving my body something good instead of constantly taking from it.
And over time, something interesting happened.
My cravings began changing.
The body has an amazing ability to adapt. The more nourishment it receives, the more it begins responding differently. Foods that once seemed impossible to live without, gradually lost their grip. Fresh foods started tasting better. Energy began improving. Mentally, there was encouragement in knowing I was actively supporting my body rather than simply hoping things would improve.
Was juicing always convenient? Not at all.
There were vegetables to buy. Counters to clean. Machines to wash. Preparation to do.
Sometimes I wondered if all the effort was really worth it.
But then I would stop and think:
What is health worth?
What is energy worth?
What is strength worth?
What is life worth?
Suddenly, washing a juicer didn’t seem like such a burden anymore.
I also began understanding something else that mattered deeply: the body was designed to heal and recover when properly supported. It constantly works on our behalf every second of the day.
That realization gave me hope.
On the other hand, I learned that animal products create a more acidic environment in the body, which is more supportive of cancer cell growth. This knowledge made maintaining a more alkaline internal balance desirable.
But here is something important I want to emphasize: I did not become fearful or obsessed over pH.
In fact, one of the most encouraging discoveries was realizing that my body gradually became more alkaline naturally because of the juicing. My pH simply reflected the healthier choices I was making each day.
That brought tremendous peace.
It reminded me that healing often happens through consistency more than intensity.
One healthy choice. One nourishing meal. One fresh glass of juice. One better decision at a time.
Those small choices add up.
Sometimes people think healing has to involve some dramatic moment. And certainly miracles happen. But often, healing also looks like daily faithfulness. Daily nourishment. Daily wisdom. Daily support for the incredible body God designed.
And perhaps that is one of the greatest lessons I learned through juicing and caring for my body:
The body has an incredible ability to respond to consistent nourishment and support.
Little choices made day after day truly matter.
Standing in faith with you,
