What I Wish Every Cancer Patient Knew From Day One

Updated: Dec 4, 2025

by Paula Black

If you or someone you love has just been diagnosed with cancer, my heart is with you. I remember that moment in my own life—when I was told I had terminal cancer and only months to live. The fear was overwhelming. But what God showed me in that season changed everything, and it’s what I want to share with you today:

There is hope. Real, life-changing hope.

Cancer Doesn’t Just “Happen”

Through years of intense research (and I mean years), I learned a truth that surprised me:

Cancer doesn’t fall from the sky. It’s not a random invader that you were unlucky enough to pick up.

Most chronic diseases—including cancer—develop slowly over time through:

  • how we think

  • how we eat

  • how we drink

  • how we handle stress

  • and how we live daily life

Without realizing it, I had been weakening my immune system year after year. Not intentionally. Not knowingly. I simply lived the way most people do—busy, stressed, unaware, and not giving my body what God designed it to need.

But here’s the good news:

If we can break down the immune system unintentionally, we can also rebuild it intentionally.

The Truth That Changed Everything

One of the most important lessons I learned is this:

You’re not sick because you have cancer. You have cancer because your immune system is sick.

The immune system—designed by God—is the body’s natural defense. When it’s strong, it destroys abnormal cells before they can grow into tumors. When it’s weakened, disease can take root.

This means the real path to healing is not just attacking the tumor… that’s reacting to the symptom of cancer, not the root problem. It’s restoring the immune system that God created to heal you.

Why Conventional Treatments Often Fall Short

I say this with compassion and honesty:

Most conventional treatments—from chemotherapy to radiation—do not restore the immune system. In fact, they often suppress it even more, while doing further damage.

Tumors are not the cause of cancer. They are the symptom of cancer.

In addition, both of these standard medical protocols can actually create cancer in your body.

Cutting out the tumor is like clipping weeds in your lawn at the surface—it doesn’t deal with the root.

To reverse cancer, we must:

  • change our thinking

  • change how we nourish our body

  • address stress

  • detoxify

  • and rebuild the immune system at a cellular level

This is exactly what I did—root by root, layer by layer—and it saved my life.

Your Body Was Designed to Heal

God created your body with extraordinary wisdom. He designed the immune system to protect, repair, and heal.

When you begin living in alignment with God’s design—spirit, soul, and body—healing becomes possible. Not just improvement… but true restoration.

I’ve seen it in my own life. I’ve watched hundreds experience the same. And I believe with all my heart that you can heal too.
